Times of anemones in the den

We often go to the den.
When the anemones burst out, there is a commotion and life in the den. The anemones talk, discuss and sing spring songs. And off course they do, because a lot has happened since they last met.

Many people think that anemones sleep most of the year, but they don't. They just stay a little in the background, so to speak. They retreat to the forest floor and keep an eye on the world situation from there. But every year in April, they come out dressed in their finest green suits with large white collars. "When will the beech bloom this year?" "Last time I checked, the buds were two and a half centimeters long, just a few more warm days, then it's there, but you never know with April, it can snow tomorrow, you know, it changes aaaaaall the time." and  they go on "Last summer there was a family who ate packed lunches, right where I stood!! but it's not uncommon, because this IS a beautiful spot, and they had bubbletea with them, I think that's the new thing in tea" and "I also heard that on the other side of the road...."  and they continue chatting about big and small things . We cuttle up in the den and listen - sometimes it is after sunset before it is quiet.
